We have an exciting town centre, wonderful countryside and a lively cultural scene. This is why we have chosen H.C. Andersen’s saying about Skanderborg as our motto: Most beautiful at Skanderborg.
Quality of life for our citizens and the best possible conditions for growth for trade and industry constitute the most important business policies being pursued by Skanderborg’s Industrial Development Council.
It is precisely these objectives, which have been established in dialogue with Skanderborg’s citizens, organisations, town council, labour market parties etc., that have led to the municipality receiving considerable praise over the years, including being named as Denmark’s best municipality for trade and industry.
This honour is, among other things, based on the fact that Skanderborg is a municipality that offers the best conditions for trade and industry, just as the business climate enjoys a clear first place.
For a healthy business climate encourages the interplay between trade and industry, the town council and the citizens, thereby laying the foundations for the continued dynamic development of Skanderborg.
For several years Skanderborg has enjoyed considerable growth, measured by the number of workplaces in the private sector. However, in recent years this growth has been more moderate due to the economic conditions both in Denmark and worldwide, yet Skanderborg has also in recent years seen a large number of people coming to the area to settle, and we have one of the lowest unemployment rates in the County of Aarhus. This confirms our belief that the dynamism and progress characterising developments in Skanderborg will also provide the right conditions for further growth in the coming years.
Skanderborg offers many advantages which, together with the high service levels offered by the municipality and the Industrial Development Council, enable the best possible interplay between all interested parties in the local community across traditional boundaries; this strengthens business life and means that new companies quickly feel at home.
