Dynaudio A/S

The name of Dynaudio is revered by hi-fi enthusiasts around the world. The reputable German magazine Audio once referred to Dynaudio’s flagship, the Evidence Master (Price approx. DKK 580,000 per set) as the best in the world, as has the upmarket American magazine Stereophile. And although the statement was followed by a question mark – just to be on the safe side – the article was one long and unreserved eulogy about the Evidence Master. Other Dynaudio loudspeaker models are also tested regularly and mostly placed in the absolute top category by lots of hi-fi magazines.

The high quality of the handmade loudspeakers from Skanderborg is also reflected in the fact that many famous international recording studios use Dynaudio as their monitor and reference loudspeakers, while the factory’s Arbiter amplifier also serves such a reference function. Some private individuals do not balk at the price of more than one million Danish kroner for a complete sound system. In fact, the amplifier was developed for use in connection with the factory’s testing of its own loudspeakers as no amplifier of a sufficiently high quality was available on the market... This is the level of ambition which is behind the company’s success: The aim is simply to produce the very best!

Components are manufactured by the factory itself or by sub-suppliers in Denmark, while all stages of production from raw materials to finished products are subjected to continuous quality control.

However, the most important explanation of Dynaudio’s success is probably the spirit which pervades the company, right through from its development department, and via production, which is run as self-governing units, to the test facilities.

However, the most important explanation of Dynaudio’s success is probably the spirit which pervades the company, right through from its development department, and via production, which is run as self-governing units, to the test facilities.

Dynaudio’s owner, Wilfried Ehrenholz, who comes from Germany, acknowledges that the company spirit is indeed very special and has grown with the company.

For this reason, he would never contemplate moving the company to Germany.

The factory was founded in 1976 because no speaker drivers of a sufficiently high quality were available at the time.

For several years Dynaudio supplied drivers to amateurs wanting to construct their own speakers. Today, demand for Dynaudio’s complete speaker systems is so strong that the DIY market is no longer supplied. On the other hand, the world’s leading car manufacturers are very interested in improving the sound quality in their products – after Dynaudio set new standards with its solution for the Volvo C70 sports coupé .

Dynaudio has great expectations for this market. With a view to meeting the requirements of the car industry, Dynaudio has obtained the following BVQI certificates: QS-9000 (quality) and ISO 14001 (environment).
