A “FLØDEBOLLE” IS NOT JUST A “FLØDEBOLLE”
If you say the word SAMBA or GUF, a Dane will immediately answer “flødebolle”, a German will say “Negerküsse”, a Spaniard “Besos de Negrita”, a Frenchman “Têtes de Nègre”, an American ”Cream puffs”, while an Englishman would think that you were talking about “Mallows” or “Snowballs”.

This cherished product takes many names, but this doesn’t change the fact that it is Elvirasminde A/S which is responsible for these well-known, airy, foam-filled chocolate-coated cream puffs. And just as a “flødebolle” is not just a “flødebolle” by name, there are many different varieties, both with regard to size and flavour.
Elvirasminde supplies both large and small cream puffs which can taste of anything from strawberry to mocha.

|
All the varieties are made from raw ingredients of the finest quality, and a state-of-the-art and hygienic production process ensures that the cream puffs continue to meet the high standards expected of them by customers worldwide. The 95 employees produce approximately two million fresh cream puffs every day. None of the puffs are stored – they are packed and dispatched immediately they leave the production line. Freshness and high quality are always in focus, and this is also reflected in the fact that Elvirasminde only produces to order and never for stock.

The history of the company goes all the way back to 1866; it was given its present name in 1875 after the name of the then owner’s wife, Elvira. Since its humble beginnings, Elvirasminde has grown to become one of the leading suppliers of cream puffs in Europe, and new targets continue to be set.
There is no doubt that consumers will find themselves eating much more SAMBA in the years to come. |
